Samantha Bee was born in Toronto, Ontario, the daughter of Debra and Ronald Bee. To date, she’s never heard of a successful, happy marriage in her family history, which she attributes to her extended lineage dating back to long before the turn of the century. Bee was raised by her grandmother, who worked as a secretary at the Catholic school on Roncesvalles Avenue where she went to school as a child when her parents split shortly after her birth.
