Robert De Niro Bio Data :

Robert De Niro, Jr. is the son of Robert De Niro, Sr. and Virginia Holton Admiral, and was born in Greenwich Village, New York City. His mother was a poet and artist, while his father was an abstract expressionist sculptor and painter when he was a boy. His parents split when he was three years old, and he was raised by his mother. Despite this, Niro’s father kept in touch with him on a daily basis and had a huge influence on his upbringing.

His early education included PS 41, Elisabeth Irwin High School, and Little Red School House. He made his acting debut as the Cowardly Lion in a school production of “The Wizard of Oz.” His initial public appearance set the tone for the rest of his life. He transferred to Rhodes Preparatory School after finishing his senior school career at McBurney School. He dropped out of both, though, and pursued a career in acting.

After finishing his study at Stella Adler Conservatory, he traveled to Lee Strasberg’s Actors Studio. He married Diahnne Abbot in 1976. Raphael was born as a result of the couple’s union. Abbott adopted Drena, his ex-daughter, and her two marriages.

The two split up in 1988. In 1995, out of his connection with Toukie Smith, who was pregnant at the time, a surrogate mother delivered his twin children through in vitro fertilization. In 1997, he married Grace Hightower for the second time. The couple’s first child, Elliot, was born the following year. Despite the fact that they divorced (informally) in 1998, they married again in 2004. As a result of this, Helen Grace, their first child, was born in 2011.

Career

His acting career began in 1963 with a little part opposite Jill Clayburgh in the film “The Wedding Party.” The film, however, did not hit theatres until 1969. Two of his earliest cameo parts in the movies, Three Rooms In Manhattan and Les Jeunes Loups, earned him an Oscar nomination. In 1968, Greetings, his first leading role, was released. The year 1973 can be regarded a watershed moment in this young star’s career.

Two of his films, ‘Bang The Drum Slowly’ and ‘Mean Streets,’ were released this year, and both got high praise and critical acclaim. He played a terminally ill baseball player perfectly in ‘Bang the Drum Slowly,’ but in ‘Mean Streets,’ he played a small-time thief Johnny Boy. Francis Ford Coppola rose to the top of the acting world after the release of ‘The Godfather Part II’ in 1974.

As a result of this performance, he won an Academy Award for his depiction of Vito Corleone. With the popularity of “Mean Streets,” his connection with filmmaker Martin Scorsese flourished, and he appeared in several of Scorsese’s other famous films. One of these films, ‘Taxi Scorsese’s Driver,’ starred Robert De Niro and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 1976. For his outstanding performance and exceptional ability to convey words, he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor. Bernardo Bertolucci’s epic biographical exploration of Italian society before World War II and Elia Kazan’s “The Last Tycoon,” which portrayed the life and times of a wealthy businessman, were among the films released in 1976.

Despite his films’ dismal box office performance, his acting was praised by both the public and critics. At the start of the 1980s decade, he received some excellent news. In Martin Scorsese’s film “Raging Bull,” he played Jake La Motta. Audiences were underwhelmed, while critics were ecstatic. Because of his ability to play a wide range of personalities, he won an Academy Award for Best Actor.

As part of his desire to break out of his mafia hero role and try new things, he displayed accurate comic timing in the films “The King of Comedy,” “Brazil,” and “Midnight Run.” In the 1990s, ‘Goodfellas’ (1990) was a great hit for this talented actor, and he had a promising decade ahead of him. Three years later, his debut directorial effort, ‘A Bronx Tale,’ was released. He ended the decade with the hugely successful spoof of mob movies ‘Analyze This’ (1999).

In 2000, he collaborated on his next effort, “Meet the Parents,” with Ben Stiller, continuing his humorous performances. The success of the original film generated the sequels ‘Meet the Fockers’ and ‘Little Fockers.’ The sequels, on the other hand, were a commercial and critical triumph. In 2002, he reprised his role as Paul Vitti in the comedy ‘Analyze That,’ which he played in 1999.

In the same year, he hosted “9/11,” a CBS show about the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. He gave the voice for Don Limo in the animated film “Shark Tale” in 2004. He received the opportunity to do voice work for the first time in his life. He returned to directing in 2006 with the spy thriller ‘The Good Shepherd.’ Angelina Jolie and Matt Damon were also in the cast.

In 2010, he played Senator John McLaughlin in the action film Machete, directed by Robert Rodriguez and Ethan Maniquis. In the same year, the film ‘Stone,’ starring Edward Norton and Milla Jovovich, was released. In 2011, De Niro demonstrated his versatility by acting in a range of genres.

His debut film was ‘Killer Elite,’ which was followed by ‘Limitless,’ which was based on the novel ‘The Dark Fields.’ Garry Marshall’s ‘New Year’s Eve’ was his final film of the year. He was nominated for an Academy Award in 2012 for his performance in the film ‘Silver Linings Playbook,’ and he showed no signs of slowing down throughout that time. Other films in which he has appeared include Freelancers, Red Lights, and Being Flynn.
