Ric Flair Bio Data :

Fred Phillips was born on February 25, 1949, in Memphis, Tennessee. Richard Morgan Fliehr was adopted by Richard Reid Fliehr and Kathleen Virginia Kinsmiller from the Tennessee Children’s Home Society. Doctors and actresses were the parents of his adoptive son. Afterwards, he attended Wayland Academy in Edina, Minnesota. At school, he was an avid follower of the sports of football, track, and wrestler. Despite receiving a football scholarship to the University of Minnesota, he decided to give up wrestling after his first year.

He met Olympic weightlifter Ken Patera while working as a bouncer at a club. Patera connected him to AWA promoter Verne Gagne. Flair was enrolled in Gagne’s training program after Gagne promised to tutor him. In August of 1971, Flair tied the knot with Leslie Goodman. After 12 years of marriage, they divorced in 1983. On August 27, 1983, Flair tied the knot with Elizabeth Harrell in Las Vegas.

Their children were Ashley and Reid. Numerous WCW appearances have been made by Liz. But they broke up in 2006 when they were still together. The following message was sent to Tiffany VanDemark on 27 May 2006. Divorce was granted in 2009 after their marriage fell apart. In the same year that Flair divorced VanDemark, he married his fourth wife. He wed Jackie Beems on November 11. It terminated in 2014, just like their previous marriage.

Career

Wrestling camp was held at Gagne’s barn near Minneapolis in 1971, where he enrolled. His coaches included Jim Brunzell, The Iron Sheik, and Ken Patera. He debuted as “Ric Flair” against George “Scrap Iron” Gadaski in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, in December 1972. In the end, the game was a dead heat. He departed the AWA in 1974 to join the NWA. To win the NWA Mid-Atlantic TV Championship on February 8, 1975, he had to face Paul Jones. On October 4, 1975, a plane crashed near Wilmington, North Carolina, killing Flare.

The pilot was killed and the other passengers were severely injured. When Flair was 26, he was told he would never wrestle again because of a back injury. Refusing to give up, Flair instead underwent intense physical therapy in order to regain the range of motion in his legs. A year after the accident, he returned to the ring to compete. The match took place in February 1976, when he defeated Wahoo McDaniel in a wrestling match. However, as a result of the disaster, he was compelled to change his style of wrestling and drop his power brawling tactics.

The NWA US Heavyweight Championship was won by Ric Flair against Bobo Brazil on July 29, 1977. After defeating Ricky Steamboat, Jimmy Snuka, Greg Valentine, and Mr. Wrestling, Flair has claimed the title five times. In 1978, he took on Buddy Rodgers, the first “Nature Boy.” In order to continue his feud with Rodgers, Flair assumed the moniker “The Nature Boy.”

Flair won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship on September 17, 1981, defeating Dusty Rhodes. He became the face of NWA because of his golden hair, bejeweled robes, and exquisite attire. His distinctive yelps of “Woooo!” during a fight soon became a trademark of his own. When Dusty Rhodes defeated Flair at The Great American Bash on July 26, 1986, Flair was stripped of his championship belt. In early 1985, Ric Flair, Ole Anderson, and Arn Anderson launched an assault on Rhodes. The ‘Four Horsemen’ were formed a few weeks later when Tully Blanchard joined them.

In order to demoralize NWA’s fan favorites and snatch all of the major championships, this diabolical alliance was established Several members of Four Horsemen have come and gone over the years. In early 1991, WCW president Jim Herd suggested that Flair change his appearance and moniker to “Spartacus.” When Flair refused, Herd rescinded his NCW title and fired him. In August 1991, Flair joined the WWF. Roddy Piper and Hulk Hogan were some of the WWF legends he faced in his debut as the ‘Big Gold Belt’ champion.

Flair defeated 29 other wrestlers in the Royal Rumble match on January 19, 1992. When he surrendered his title against Bret Hart on October 12, 1992, he did so in defeat. After a brief hiatus in February 1993, Flair returned to WCW as the brand’s new mascot. He won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Barry Windham at Beach Blast. After WCW left the NWA in September 1993, he held the title for barely a few months. Flair won the WCW International World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Sting in June 1994.

Flair also served as a flag-bearer for the “New World Order” in the late ’90s and early ’00s. Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash were all Horsemen foes. It was in 2000 that Ric Flair won two WCW World Championships. Flair returned to the WWF in November 2001 after a brief absence. WCW co-owners Shane and Stephanie Flair sold their shares on-camera and gave Flair their share. Vince McMahon assumed control of the situation while it was being filmed. Flair joined the ‘Evolution’ in 2003, along with Triple H, Randy Orton, and Dave Batista.

Flair and Batista won the World Tag Team Championship twice in 2003 and 2004. March 29, 2008, was the first time an active wrestler was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. After losing to Shawn Micheals at WrestleMania XXIV in Orlando, Florida, on March 30, 2008, he announced his retirement from the sport of professional wrestling. In the WWE, he is known as Charlotte, the ring name given to his daughter Ashley, who goes by the ring name Charlotte.
