Orlando City Soccer Team is an American professional soccer club based in Orlando, Florida, that is a member of Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference. The club plays its home games at Amway Center (MLS). Orlando City SC became the 21st franchise in Major League Soccer (MLS) in 2015, taking over from the USL Pro team of the same name. As a result, they became the first Major League Soccer team to play in Florida since the Miami Fusion and Tampa Bay Mutiny both collapsed after the 2001 season.
The team’s home stadium is Exploria Stadium, which is located in Downtown Orlando. Prior to the completion of Orlando City’s soccer-specific stadium, the Lions played their first two seasons in Major League Soccer at the Citrus Bowl, which the team had also purchased and renovated with its own funds.
