New York Red Bulls Bio Data :

The New York Red Bulls are a Major League Soccer team based in the New York metropolitan area that competes in the United States (MLS). The New York Red Bulls are a member of the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS), where they participate.

When the club was founded in October 1994, it was known as the New York/New Jersey MetroStars, and it began competing in the league’s debut season in 1996 as the MetroStars. The squad was sold to Red Bull GmbH in 2006 and rebranded as a member of the company’s global network of soccer teams, thereby earning the name it is known by today.

Since 2010, the Red Bulls have played their home games in Red Bull Arena, having previously played at Giants Stadium in New York City’s downtown. The club, along with New York City FC, is one of two Major League Soccer teams situated in the New York metropolitan region.

The other team, New York City FC, joined the league in 2015. In the Hudson River Derby, the two teams fight against each other for bragging rights. On one occasion, the Red Bulls advanced to the MLS Cup championship game, when they were defeated by the Columbus Crew.

After winning three consecutive regular-season Supporters’ Shield titles in 2013, 2015, and 2018, the club has also advanced to the final of the United States Open Cup on two separate occasions, in 2003 and 2017, before losing on both occasions.

After the team’s inaugural season, the MetroStars wore solid black or solid white jerseys before transitioning to home jerseys with red and black vertical stripes in the following seasons (similar to those worn by A.C. Milan). Ever since the Red Bull acquisition of Formula 1, the team has nearly always worn white shirts with red shorts at home while adopting a combination of navy blue and yellow for away outfits, each with a large Red Bull emblem across the chest.

Prior to the 2018 season, the club debuted a new all-red home jersey, which replaced the previous blue-and-yellow alternate kit. The New York Red Bulls Training Facility is located in Hanover Township, New Jersey, and it first opened its doors in June of that year. The $6 million facilities, which take up approximately 15 acres of the 73-acre property, comprises four fields, three of which are grass and one of which is turf, each of which is the size of the one at Red Bull Arena. The middle field, which has a grass surface, is heated, and one of the turf fields is illuminated at night.

The other buildings housed the gym, a fitness/wellness area, a hot/cold tub room, and a players’ lounge, which also included a cafeteria that served breakfast and lunch. As of April 2015, the team has a new 4,000 square feet (370 square meters) training complex with two team locker rooms, a multipurpose weight and cardio area, a treatment room, an exam room, lockers for the coaches, and bathrooms for both men and women, among other amenities. In 2017, the squad completed a 3,500 sq ft (330 m2) addition to the 2015 training facility for the academy team, as well as the construction of a third turf field.

In 2021, the club announced intentions to construct an 80-acre training complex in the nearby Morris Township, which would be privately funded. This would correspond with the club’s 30th anniversary, which would be celebrated in 2024 when the facility is expected to be completed. In the past, the Red Bulls had a nomadic existence, using a variety of different training fields before completing the building of the Hanover facility. Several fan clubs and organizations have sprung up around the squad since the franchise’s inception in the year 2000.

The first of them, known as the Empire Supporters Club, was established in 1995, prior to the formation of the squad in question. The Garden State Supporters, now known as the Garden State Ultras, were founded in 2005 in New Jersey by a group of soccer fans (GSU).

A surge in people from Scandinavian backgrounds during the 2010 season resulted in the formation of a supporters club known as the Viking Army Supporters Club. In 2021, a fourth supporters club, Torcida 96, was formed, which took its name from the manner of fans found in Brazil and was founded in the city of Rio de Janeiro. In part, this is owing to the large number of Brazilians that live in Harrison and Newark.

Several sections of Red Bull Arena have been classified as “supporter specific” by the Red Bulls. Section 101 was designated for the Empire Supporters Club, Section 102 was designated for the Viking Army, and Section 133 was designated for Torcida 96. Part of the “South Ward” consists of Sections 133, 101, and 102, which are all connected. For the 2016 Major League Soccer season, the Red Bulls had 11,000 season ticket holders. Originally known as the MetroStars, the Red Bulls have played their home games on MSG and MSG Plus television since 1996.

Tolleson (play-by-play) and Smyth (analyst) were the first two broadcasters to work on the broadcast. Derek Rae and JP Dellacamera took over as play-by-play announcers for the remainder of the game. [a citation is required] The MSG/MSG Plus broadcasters have changed as of 2012. They are now Steve Cangialosi (play-by-play) and Shep Messing (analyst).

Red Bulls broadcasts were first made available online in 2015, with Matt Harmon and former MetroStar and Red Bull Steve Jolley providing the English-language commentary, and Ernesto Motta providing the Spanish-language commentary. Late in 2015, the club partnered with TuneIn to develop a streaming internet station, making it the first Major League Soccer club to deliver 24-hour streaming content to its fan base.
