Nashville Predators Bio Data :

The Nashville Predators are a professional ice hockey team headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, that competes in the National Hockey League. They are owned by the Nashville Predators Foundation (NHL). Since becoming a professional sports organization in 2009, the Nashville Predators have won one conference championship and one Stanley Cup in their brief history (2017).

Established in 1998, the Nashville Predators were one of four expansion clubs that joined the National Hockey League between 1998 and 2000 (the other three being the Atlanta Thrashers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and the Minnesota Wild). They were the first team in the league to compete in the NHL during that season. Despite the fact that the squad only won one game in each of the first five seasons of its existence, the team never finished higher than the third in its division throughout that time.

Over a three-year span, from 2003–04 to 2007–08, Nashville finished second in the Central Division on three separate occasions, each time succumbing to Detroit in the first round of the playoffs. During the following three seasons, between 2005–06 and 2007–08, the team finished second in division three more times, each time falling in the first round of the playoffs.

The Predators returned to the postseason in 2009–10, thanks to the efforts of center Jason Arnott and defender Shea Weber, only to be ousted in the first round by the eventual champion Chicago Blackhawks in the Western Conference Final. Upon defeating the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 in the first round of the postseason in 2010–11, Nashville became the first team in the NHL to win a playoff series in the franchise’s storied history. The next year, Nashville was eliminated in the second round of the postseason, a result that was repeated the following year. Nashville is currently in the second round of the postseason.

The Nashville Predators made their first appearance in the postseason since missing out on the postseason in each of the previous two seasons in 2014–15. After that, the Predators went on their most successful postseason run in the organization’s history two seasons later, led by newly acquired defender P.K. Subban, who was named to the All-Star team in the process.

The Nashville Predators won three consecutive series and advanced to the Stanley Cup finals for the first time in the team’s history before falling in a six-game final series against the Pittsburgh Penguins. As a result, the Nashville Predators set a new franchise record with 53 victories in 2017–18 and were awarded the Presidents’ Trophy, which is given to the team with the best regular-season record in the National Hockey League during the regular season.

The Winnipeg Jets defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second round of the playoffs, effectively ending the team’s postseason hopes. The Nashville Predators, who won their second consecutive division title in 2018–19, were eliminated from the playoffs in the first round for the second time in three seasons after winning the division title in 2017–18. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Predators’ next two seasons were cut short, and they were eliminated from the playoffs in the first round of the 2020–21 season, marking the second time in three seasons that they were eliminated in the first round.
