Morgan Wallen Biography and Wiki:
Wallen was born on May 13, 1993 in Sneedville, Tennessee, and he spent the majority of his childhood in the Knoxville region. His father was a preacher who enjoyed the bombast of hard rock, while his mother was a teacher whose preferences tended to modern Christian tunes. Both of his parents were musically influenced by their respective professions. Wallen’s early exposure to music led to the development of a deep passion for the subject; he began singing in church when he was three years old and started playing the violin when he was five years old. Later in life, he became proficient at playing the piano and the guitar, but during his time at Gibbs High School in Corryton, Tennessee, his primary interest was baseball. He pitched for the school’s varsity squad. He was excellent enough to receive scholarship offers to play baseball in college, but around the conclusion of his senior year, he suffered an elbow injury that ended his career as a pitcher. After that, he started thinking about pursuing a career in music instead.
Wallen participated in the blind audition round of the popular singing competition The Voice in February of 2014, performing the song “Collide” by Howie Day for the panel of judges. The competition is broadcast on a number of popular television networks. Morgan joined Usher’s crew after seeing how much he appreciated Wallen’s performance. Following the conclusion of the second Battle Round, Wallen was taken by Adam Levine’s team, while Morgan’s team was knocked out of the playoffs. The Voice not only helped Wallen find a collaborator but also provided him countrywide visibility. Sergio Sanchez, lead singer of the band Atom Smash, was a vocal coach on the show, and the two of them started producing songs together that complemented Wallen’s country voice and rock and roll attitude. After moving to Nashville, he and Sanchez started a band together called Morgan Wallen & Them Shadows, but it didn’t last long.
After relocating to Music City, Wallen was able to get the services of a management and an agency in addition to signing a publishing deal with Big Loud Shirt Music, which resulted in a number of upcoming musicians covering his songs. After that, Wallen was given the opportunity to record as a solo artist by Big Loud’s record company, Big Loud Music. In the meantime, he embarked on a tour of radio stations to get himself back into performing shape. After making a splash on the airwaves in 2016 with his song “The Way I Talk,” he quickly released an EP consisting of five songs that included the song as one of its tracks. In 2017, he worked with Florida Georgia Line on the recording of their single “Up Down.” The song was a success, reaching the top ten of the Country Singles charts and earning a gold record in the process. If I Know Me was Wallen’s debut studio album, and it was released in April of 2018. The song was chosen to start off the album, and it did so very successfully.
He made his comeback with the single “This Bar” in 2019, and then he did it again in early 2020 with the tune “More Than My Hometown,” which went on to become the most played country song on Billboard’s Country Airplay list. Wallen’s second studio album, titled Dangerous: The Double Album, was a collection of songs that included both traditional country ballads and neo-country tunes that were heavily influenced by R&B and pop music. The album made its debut at number one on the Billboard album charts in January 2021 and amassed the most number of streams in the first week of any country album to have been released to this point. Because of a video in which the singer used racially insensitive language, Wallen was immediately suspended by his record label, his songs were taken off the air at country radio stations, and the Academy of Country Music ruled that his album was ineligible for consideration for their awards roughly a month after the album was made available to the public. In May of that year, he was brought back onto the artist roster at Big Loud Music. In the next year, Wallen released the gospel waltz titled “Don’t Think Jesus.”
