Lily Collins was born on March 18, 1989, in Guildford, Surrey, England. She is the daughter of Phil Collins, an English composer, and Jill Tavelman, an American former president of the Beverly Hills Women’s Club. Her maternal grandfather was a Jewish immigrant from Canada who owned a men’s clothes shop in Beverly Hills for several years.
Collins moved to Los Angeles with her mother after her parents divorced in 1996 when she was seven years old.
