Her mother, Linda, was a housewife while her dad, Dan McCarthy, worked in a steel mill. She climbed up together with her three sisters, Lynette, Joanne, and Amy. The favorite actress Melissa McCarthy is her cousin.
She attended Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School during her teen years and later became a cheerleader for St. Laurence High School and Brother Rice High School. After finishing her education, McCarthy enrolled in Southern Illinois University where she spent two decades.

Jenny McCarthy dated actor John Mallory Asher for many months prior to marrying him in 1999. They have a son named Evan Joseph Asher (born May 18, 2002) who had been diagnosed with autism in May 2005. McCarthy and Asher finished their union with a divorce in September 2005.

Jenny McCarthy began her career as a model when she was offered a sum of US$20,000 by ‘Playboy’ magazine to present for the book in 1993. She was selected from 10,000 applicants to become the Playmate of the Month for October that year.
McCarthy posed wearing her Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School sweater and Playboy publisher Hugh Hefner confessed her catholic college girl’s character set her apart from others. The Catholic community in her area didn’t appreciate her posing for the ‘Playboy’ magazine and created troubles for her and her loved ones. McCarthy once confessed that her neighbors had thrown eggs at her house and her sisters were mistreated at their schools.
Due to her modeling career, some Catholic nuns whom she and her family considered close friends, lectured her along with her close relatives about the celestial punishment they would confront in the afterlife.
McCarthy persevered despite the opposition and proceeded to become an extremely successful model.
