ITZY Bio Data:

ITZY () is a female group consisting of five members that is managed by JYP Entertainment. Their first release, a digital single album titled “IT’z Different,” was released on February 12, 2019. Before making their debut, the members of the group had already established themselves in the industry. In 2013, Chaeryeong participated in the reality competition show K-pop Star 3 that was broadcast on SBS. After that, she went on to compete in the JYP survival show SIXTEEN in 2015. Unfortunately, she was not selected to join the victorious girl group, TWICE. During the years 2017 and 2018, Ryujin competed in the reality show MIXNINE, which was produced by JTBC. During her time on the show, she came in first place for girls but was defeated by the boys team in the final challenge.  Yeji was a participant on SBS’s The Fan, but she was taken out of the competition in episode 5. Itzy was the recipient of multiple Best New Female Artist honours at the conclusion of the year, including those presented at the 2019 Melon Music Awards and the 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards.

In 2017, all of the members of the group, with the exception of Lia, participated in the reality show Stray Kids that was broadcast on Mnet as a project group competing against the boy band Stray Kids. Itzy (stylized in all caps; Korean: ; RR: Itji; MR: Itchi) is a female group from South Korea that was created by JYP Entertainment and consists of members Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna. The group’s name comes from the Hangul character for “it” (pronounced “itji”). They made their debut with the release of their debut single album titled It’s Different on February 12th, 2019. Their honours include being named Rookie of the Year at the 34th Golden Disc Awards, New Artist of the Year at the 9th Gaon Chart Music Awards and 2019 Melon Music Awards, Best New Female Artist at the 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards, and the New Artist Award at the 29th Seoul Music Awards; they are the first K-pop girl group to achieve such a “Rookie Grand Slam.” [28] The music videos for the songs “Dalla Dalla” and “Icy” both made it onto the list of the most popular music videos in South Korea can be found on YouTube, coming in at number two and number seven, respectively.

ITZY Relationship

After Chaeryeong did not do well in the auditions that were held by Fantagio, she and her sister were cast by JYP Entertainment (JYP) in the K-pop Star 3 television series.  In 2015, Chaeryeong competed in the survival programme Sixteen that was produced by JYP, but she was eliminated before the final roster was revealed for the winning female group, Twice.  Chaeryeong, who was the first member of Itzy to join JYP, underwent five years of rigorous training. The Got7 performance where Ryujin was performing was where he was discovered, and he worked with JYP for a period of four years prior to Itzy’s debut. Both Yuna and Yeji joined JYP in 2015 and underwent three years of rigorous training. Yuna was discovered by the JYP team while Yeji was selected for the group following a successful audition. The final member, Lia, had originally tried out for SM Entertainment and was successful in her audition, but she was ultimately forced to withdraw from consideration because of a dispute with her parents. After waiting for a few more years, Lia was successful in the JYP auditions and then trained for two years. The publication praised the group for maintaining “a steady hand on the rudder using the fun touches even with the visual and sonic chaos going on around” and for being “the ones to give K-pop a fresh boot up” in its review of the group.

Yuna and Ryujin both had appearances in the “Love Yourself” Highlight Reel that BTS released in 2017.  During the same year, all of the members of Stray Kids (with the exception of Lia) made an appearance on the Mnet reality show Stray Kids as a project group alongside the boy group that would later be known as Stray Kids. [7] In 2017, Ryujin participated in the survival competition Mix Nine, which was broadcast on JTBC. She came in first place among the female competitors but came in second place overall behind the male competitors. [8] While everything was going on, Yeji was a contestant on SBS’s The Fan, but she was ousted in the fifth episode. JYP made the announcement on January 21 that it would be launching a new female group, which would be its first since the debut of Twice in 2015 and its first idol group overall since the release of Stray Kids in 2017. [10] The five band members were introduced in a short trailer that was released to the official label account on YouTube. Since the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA) began awarding certifications in April of 2018, it was the first debut single released by a K-pop group to be given the platinum rating. The song was ranked eighth on the list of “The 20 Best K-pop Songs of 2019” that was compiled by Dazed.

ITZY Career

It’z Different, the group’s debut single album, was released on February 12, including the single “Dalla Dalla” as the album’s lead single. Audiences responded positively to the song’s inspiring lyrics, as well as the incorporation of elements from subgenres of electronic dance music (EDM) such as future house and bass house. [13] [14] [15] The trio had one of the most successful starts on the Billboard charts for a new K-pop act in recent years, with their song “Dalla Dalla” starting at number three and reaching a high position of number two on the World Digital Song Sales list. According to Nielsen Music, the shape-shifting confidence hymn was the top-selling K-pop song in the United States during the week that ended on February 14. With 2,000 downloads sold, it was the best-selling K-pop song in the country during that week. Along with “Dalla Dalla,” the song “Want It?” was also released, and it debuted at number eight, with sales of 1,000 downloads. Additionally, “Dalla Dalla” made its debut on YouTube as the second most popular song there.  The music video broke the record for the most viewed K-pop debut music video within 24 hours after it was released, as confirmed by Billboard, which stated that the music video had more than 17.1 million views within 24 hours of its release.

Itzy won their first music show competition on M Countdown on February 21, just eight days after making their debut, breaking the record for the quickest amount of time ever required for a girl group to obtain their first music show victory. [19] [20] The song went on to be victorious on a total of nine music competitions [21], and its music video became the K-pop debut music video with the quickest ascent to the 100 million views milestone on YouTube at the time. Itzy released their debut extended play (EP), titled It’z Icy, on July 29, accompanied with a music video for their lead track, titled “Icy.” The extended play (EP) was a financial success, reaching its highest position on the Gaon Album Chart at number three. Icy extended the band’s run of success on music competitions, amassing a total of 12 victories, including a sweep of the three crowns at Show Champion. [25] JYP made the announcement of Itzy’s showcase tour on September 22. The tour is called the “Itzy Premiere Showcase Tour “Itzy? Itzy!” The tour began on November 2 in Jakarta and continued through other cities in Asia until the end of 2019, after which it travelled to the United States for five events in January 2020. The song “Dalla Dalla” received the group’s first platinum certification in November 2019, when it exceeded the milestone of 100 million streams on the Gaon Music Chart.
