Born of Heino was Heinrich and Franziska Kramm, Germany, on 13 December 1938 in Düsseldorf-Oberbilk. His father, his mother, a Protestant, had been a Roman Catholic dentist. The organist in Cologne Cathedral was his grandfather. There were also two Catholic cousins. During World War II, Heino’s father was drawn to the German army and killed during the invasion of the Soviet Union on 2 August 1941.
He was first performed in the OK Singers trio in 1961. Heino gained renown in the mid-1960s and has been playing in the German music charts many times since then. He regularly performed on German TV shows like ZDF-Hitparade, Musikantenstadl and ZDF-Fernsehgarten.
Most of his recordings have been pop versions of traditional folk songs, such as “Blaue Blooms the Gentian,” one of his signature songs and an adaptation to the folk song “Das Schweizermädel” “Schweizermädel” Heino released in February 2013 a new album, called “Mit freundlichen Grüßen” (Mit Freundlichen Grüßen) that topped the charts of the German album. This was Germany’s first Number One album.

He married Henriette Heppner in June 1959 at the age of 18. They had a son, Uwe, who was born in 1962, and divorced thereafter. In 1965, he married his second wife, Lilo Kramm, and in 1978, they divorced. On 28 January 2010, Lilo died of cancer.He became the father of an unlawful daughter, Petra, in 1968. The mom died in 1988 and the daughter both died of suicide in November 2003.
At the 1972 Miss Austria competition in Kitzbühel, Heino met his third wife, Hannelore Auersperg. In April 1979, she married and became his director. In Bad Münstereifel the couple lives. Heino suffered a heart attack in 2004, which led Heino to curtail his career. Because of Graves illness, Heino has noticeable exophthalmos. This is why he always wears in public very dark glasses that form part of his markings.
Heino was quoted in a German daily storey in 2014, saying that without them he feels “naked” and put into his will to be buried with them. Some initially believed that he wore glasses as a result of albinism because of his light hair and skin.
