Gerald Eaton is a Canadian vocalist and music producer of R&B, also called Jarvis Church. Jarvis Church is the pseudonym of Gerald Eaton, a Canadian-based musician whose debut solo Shake It Off was published in 2002, and who has already had several notable musical strokes to his credit. He was half the production team behind the Canadian singer/songwriter Nelly Furtado, the records of which have amassed very good sales figures and honoured with a few Grammy Awards nominations including one for Eaton as Best Producer in 2002 and almost as many Juno Awards. He played with the Philosopher Kings as a leading vocalist, and set up a Toronto-based company for Brian West, who would subsequently work with him in Track & Field Productions and with four other Ontario musicians.
In 1993, the group was offered by Sony Music Canada. Eaton gained gold certification from Philosopher Kings’ eponymous first Album and a top-10 place with the single “Charms.” With the Philosopher Kings. There came further top 10 songs and a platinum album. He designed his new stage name by merging the two Toronto streets when he eventually began performing on his own. He performed on Nelly Furtado’s song “Saturdays” in the Folklore album. In 2007 he scored and appeared in the Da Kink TV series in My Hair.
