Clifford Leslie Mishler was Born on August 11, 1939.Clifford Leslie Mishler is an American actor and writer. He is a numismatist and an author from the United States of America. American Numismatic Association president, he has served as a member of the American Numismatic Association. Krause Publications hired Mishler in 1963 as an associate editor for Numismatic News, and he was promoted to full editor in 1964 and 1966, respectively.
For the period 1966 to 1975, he served as the publisher of all numismatic publications, and from 1975 to 1988, he served as the publisher of all publications, and from 1975 to 1988, he served as the executive vice president and senior vice president. Krause Publications named him president on January 1, 1991.For three years, from 2009 to 2011, he served as president of the American Numismatic Association.
Career
His “On The Scene” essays for Numismatic News will continue through 2020. As a member of the United States Assay Commission in 1973, Mishler played a key role in the sale of the Carson City Morgan dollar hoard from the GSA. Collectors were issued the Eisenhower dollars with a 40 percent silver content from 1971 to 1978 as a result of his lobbying. The Bicentennial quarter, half, and dollar coins were also a result of his efforts in 1975-76.He has received numerous awards, including the Numismatists of Wisconsin Meritorious Service Award
Smedley Memorial Award in 1991, among many others. In addition to being a lifetime member of the American Numismatic Association, he is also a lifetime fellow of the American Numismatic Society (ANS). As Numismatist of the Year in 2002, he was enshrined into the Numismatic Hall of Fame of the American Numismatic Association (ANA).
