Chevy Chase Bio Data :

Chevy Chase was born on October 8, 1943, in New York City, New York, USA, to Edward Tinsley “Ned” Chase and Cathalene Parker. He is the son of Edward Tinsley “Ned” Chase and Cathalene Parker. His parents were Edward Tinsley Chase and Cathalene Parker, and he was their son. Because of his appearance, his grandma gave him the nickname “Chevy Chase.” The author’s father worked as a book editor and magazine writer in Manhattan, while the author’s mother was a concert pianist and librettist in the same city where he lived.

The family was originally from the Lower Manhattan neighborhood of New York City, where they lived for many years. According to a widely widespread urban tale, Chase was expelled from high school for violating school rules. But he later admitted in an interview that he had dropped out of school owing to concerns about his academic performance.

His pre-medical studies were completed in 1967 when he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from ‘Bard College’. Following the decision of Chase and his pals Walter Becker and Donald Fagen to forego attending medical school, they formed a jazz band that they dubbed “a lousy jazz band.” Prior to recognizing his true calling, he supplemented his money by working a number of odd jobs to augment his income.

Career

After getting married to Suzanne Chase in 1973, they later divorced and moved on with their lives. Three years after meeting Jacqueline Carlin, he tied the knot with her. Also, this marriage was terminated through the process of divorce. Jayni Luke, with whom he had a child in 1982, became his wife. His wife, Jayni, and his three kids, Cydney Cathalene, Caley Leigh, and Emily Evelyn are the proud parents of the couple.

His current home is in Bedford, New York, where he lives with his wife, Jayni, and their two children. For the presidential campaigns of Bill Clinton and John Kerry, as well as other candidates, Chase was heavily involved in fund-raising activities. In addition to creating the first season of ‘Saturday Night Live,’ this American actor and comedian rose through the ranks of the show’s cast to become a prominent part of the cast in subsequent seasons.

He was a founding member of the comedy ensemble ‘Channel One,’ which was formed in 1967. A member of the ambitious rock band ‘Chameleon Church,’ he performed drums and keyboards in the band’s live performances. Before disbanding in 1969, the band issued only one studio album, “The Last Waltz,” which was released in 1969. Later in his musical career, he wrote for the magazine “MAD” a satire of the film “Mission: Impossible” that was published.

The National Lampoon production ‘Lemmings,’ which premiered off-Broadway in 1973, landed him a role as one of the title characters. A cast member of the National Lampoon Radio Hour from 1973 to 1974, in which he featured with celebrities such as John Belushi, Bill Murray, and Gilda Radner, among others, he was born in the same year as John Belushi. Chase was hired as a writer for NBC’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ in 1975, and he stayed there for a year before leaving the show.

Later on, in the show’s run, he rose through the ranks to become a part of the main ensemble. Chase was on his way to Hollywood a little more than a year after the incident. His feature film debut, ‘Foul Play,’ was released in 1978, and he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture. Chase made an appearance in the 1980 film ‘Modern Problems,’ in which he played a lawyer. While photographing the incident, he came dangerously close to being electrocuted.

His act in the sports comedy picture ‘Caddyshack,’ which was released the same year, was similarly well-received. In his professional life, “National Lampoon’s Vacation” (1983), the first installment in the “National Lampoon” series, proved to be a watershed moment: it marked the beginning of his success. Later, in 1985, Chase began working for the firm referred to as ‘Fletch.’

When it came to be the first cinematic adaptation of Gregory McDonald’s “Fletch” book series, it was a critical and commercial triumph. He reached the zenith of his professional career around 1987 and 1988, at which point he began charging extravagant prices for his consulting services. He and his friend Simon were both featured in the song ‘You Can Call Me Al,’ which was composed specifically for him and was released in the same year. In addition, he served as the host of the Academy Awards in 1987 and 1988.

Originally named “National Lampoon’s European Vacation” and “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” Chase’s ‘National Lampoon’ sequels were released in 1988 and 1989, respectively. Chase is most known for his work on the television series “National Lampoon.” In the 1990s, he suffered a setback when films such as “Nothing But Trouble,” “Memoirs of an Invisible Man,” and “Cops & Robbersons” failed to sell well at the box office, putting a crimp in his otherwise successful career.

In 1993, Chase hosted the syndicated chat show ‘The Chevy Chase Show,’ which aired on NBC and ABC. After five weeks on the air, the show, which was produced by the “Fox Broadcasting Company,” was canceled. After a great comeback with the film ‘Man of the House,’ which performed substantially higher at the box office than any of his previous projects, Chase returned to the big screen in 1996.

“Hot Tub Time Machine” and “Funny or Die” were two of the films in which he appeared in 2010. Chase appeared in the latter, which was a short internet film that was produced in 2013. Chase played the character of President Ford. It was reported that his resignation from the comedy series “Community” in 2012 was due to differences in creative vision with the show’s director. He had a brief cameo appearance in the season five premiere, which marked his return to the show as a guest star.
