The Italian singer-songwriter is Carmen Consoli. It has issued 11 studio albums, one hit, one soundtrack album, two live albums, four vides and 33 individuals, selling two million M&D and a multiplatinum disc certified copies, 11 platinum and two gold certifications in Italy. She also produced two new albums. She has garnered three nominations at the Sanremo Music Festival, one from Targa Tenco, one from Lunezia and seven from Italy and the World Wind & Music Awards.
The Order of Merit of the Italian Republic was appointed by Consoli in 2012. Born in Catania, consoli grew up in San Giovanni la Punta, a little village. At the age of fifteen, she began playing guitar and later she joined Moon Dog’s Party, a rock-blues band. Her first album, Due Parole, was recorded in 1996, and she participated in the Sanremo Festival with Amore di Plastica.
Career
Confusa e felice (1997) sold over 130,000 copies on her following album. That same year, after various TV shows, she started on her maiden tour. She published her third album, Mediamente isterica, in fall 1998, which was a certain record that depicted diverse women. This album was not successful with its previous work, selling approximately 80,000 copies, but was one of her fans’ favourites. For the third time, her fourth album Stato di necessità was released in 2000, she participated in the Festival of Sanremo with In bianco e nero.
The album contains two of Carmen’s best triumphs, the songs Parole di burro and L’ultima bacio. Gabriele Muccino, with Stefano Accorsi and Giovanna Mezzogiorno, became an author’s official soundtrack for this film of the same name. In 2001 the French state of necessity published a version of Stato di Necessità; in 2001 its five album, L’Eccezione, was released on October 23rd, called “Carmen Consoli Day,” in accordance with MTV Italia. The first unplugged concert was held on MTV Italy, and in 2003 it was released to the public on CD, Un Sorso in Più. In 2004, Consoli made its first concerts in USA, with stops in New York (where she came back during her “mini-tour” in three cities), and SXSW in Austin. The sixth studio album of Consoli, Eva Contro Eva, was released in 2006. 2003 saw the publication, in partnership with MTV Italy, of its Second Live Album Un sorso in più – dal vivo an MTV Supersonic.
