Big Show Bio Data :

On February 8, 1972, Paul Wight was born in Aiken, South Carolina. To a greater extent than André the Giant did, Wight also suffered from acromegaly, an overproduction of growth hormones by the pituitary gland. A 12-year-old boy, he measured 6 feet 2 inches (1.88 meters) in height, 100 kilograms (100 pounds) in weight, and was covered in chest hair. He played for Wichita State University at the age of 19 and was 7 ft 1 in tall (2.16 m). Wight was a talented athlete in his early 20s. During his time at Wyman King Academy, he played on the basketball and football teams at Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina.

He was a tight end on the football field and a center on the basketball court. A dispute with the coach led to him quitting football. He became a member of the cheerleading team during his sophomore year. Wight played basketball at Northern Oklahoma Junior College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. He relocated to Wichita State from his hometown in rural Northern Oklahoma in order to pursue his education there. Wight played for them in basketball. In 1992-93, he was a member of the NCAA Division II Cougars basketball team and the Xi Beta Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

In the early 1990s, Paul Wight underwent surgery to limit the growth of his pituitary gland. Since he was so obese, he had to give up renting automobiles and flying. Because of this, he has to travel a lot for work. As a result, he procured a bus and a chauffeur. Wight is married twice. On February 14, 1997, he tied the knot with Melissa Ann Piavis, the mother of his daughter Cierra. Their divorce was finalized on February 6, 2002, exactly two years later.

Career

He married Bess Katramados, his second wife, five days later. They’ve got two kids. In addition, he was employed by a karaoke business. Danny Bonaduce was hosting a morning radio show at the time, where he ran into him. Bonaduce introduced Wight to Hulk Hogan. Hogan sensed potential in Wight after seeing him entertain the audience at a WCW promotional basketball game and told Eric Bischoff about it. Despite Wight’s best efforts, he was denied membership in the WWF because of his insufficient training.

After that, he spent $5,000 on training at Larry Sharpe’s Monster Factory. Wight trained with Johnny Polo because Sharpe was suffering from gout at the time. Wight made his WWA debut on December 3, 1994, losing to WWA Heavyweight Champion Frank Finnegan at Clementon, New Jersey. When he made his debut for WWA, he also made his final appearance for the promotion. WCW signed him to a lucrative contract in 1995. When he made his WCW debut, he was billed as André the Giant’s son, but that was quickly dropped after he was signed.

At WCW’s 1995 Halloween Havoc event, he made his professional wrestling debut as The Giant and fought World Heavyweight Champion Hogan. A few days later, he was stripped of the title belt he had just won. He joined the stable in 1996 and stayed until the end of the year after weeks of fighting with other new members. He won the World War 3 Battle Royal and fought Hogan for the World Heavyweight belt during this time. Confessed to and expelled from nWo After that, he and Kevin Nash got into it.

Toward the end of 1999, Wight had given up on WCW. He walked away from the promotion when he realized he was underpaid compared to the top names in the business. As of February 8, 1999, he was a 27-year-old free agent. After signing a ten-year contract with WWF on February 9, 1999, Wight became known as “Big Show” in the ring. St. Valentine’s Day Massacre: In Your, House debuted in 1999 as a member of Vince McMahon’s stable The Corporation. With McMahon and Kane, and temporarily with the Undertaker, he later fought with The Rock and Kane, as well as The Undertaker.

At the 1999 Survivor Series, Big Show won the WWF Championship by defeating The Rock and Triple H. It was on January 3, 2000, that Big Show was dethroned by Triple H. A major part of WrestleMania 2000 was his feud with Triple H and The Rock, which lasted for months. As a result, he began copying the moves of other wrestlers in the industry. He was a member of the ‘The Conspiracy’ horse stable. In order to reduce his body fat and improve his cardiovascular health, the WWF had him train at Ohio Valley Wrestling for a while.

The Invasion storyline featured him prominently at the 2001 Royal Rumble. To win the WWE Championship for the second time, Big Show defeated Brock Lesnar. Kurt Angle won the belt a month later. It was at No Mercy in 2003 that he defeated Eddie Guerrero. WrestleMania 21 saw him lose to sumo superstar Akebono of Japan.  After winning the World Tag Team Championship as a team, they got into a rivalry, which resulted in two no-contests. Throughout the years, he has appeared in numerous major WWE storylines, including The Authority.

On April 4, 2018, he returned to the ring to honor his longtime friend and fellow wrestler Mark Henry by inducting him into the WWE Hall of Fame.
