Andy Bell Bio Data :

The English synth-pop duo Erasure is a lead singer by Andrew Ivan Bell. This combination is the most popular in his native UK and continental Europe and in South America (particularly Germany, Denmark and Sweden) (especially Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Peru).

The band is also prominent in the LGBT community that has become an icon of the openly homosexual Bell. Erasure wrote over 200 songs and sold more than 25 million albums throughout the world. Bell is recognised for its deep voice and flamboyant stage figure, which contrasts with the low key and deadlock of bandmate Vince Clarke.

He’s solo with Non-Stop, Electric Blue and iPop albums. He replied to a newspaper advertising for a singer in 1985, selling female shoes and playing in a band called the void. Vince Clarke was the “hero” of Bell; Bell succeeded in his hearing and created Erasure group together. The pair sold globally more than 25 million albums. In The Fall of the House of Usher by Peter Hammill and Judge Smith, Bell sung Montresor’s role, which was released in 1991 and was republished with a fresh record in 1999.

Career

In July 2005, Bell announced its first solo album. He secured a solo recording contract with Sanctuary Records worldwide and announced his debut album named Electric Blue, released on 3 October 2005. The CD had 14 tracks, three duets included, featuring Propaganda’s Claudia Brücken and Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears. On 26 September 2005, the first single, “Crazy,” comprised the remixes of the club from its Erasure-partner Vince Clarke and Cicada, MHC and King Roc.

Electrical Blue has been co-authored and recorded with the artists Erasure, Moby, B-5, Stereophonics, and Goldfrapp, in 2004 and 2005, with Manhattan Clique, (Philip Larsen and Chris-Smith). On 7 June 2010, Bell released Non-Stop, his second solo album. He was co-written, co-produced and remixed “It must not be,” by Bell and Pascal Gabriel. It also has a partnership with Perry Farrell.

Bell released on his second solo album “Running Out” (2010) and “W Will you Be There?” (2010) under the pseudonym “Mimó” two tracks made by Pascal Gabriel on “Mute Records.” The moniker, as a name “A homage to Tomeau Mimó, a good friend, has not been used on any further solo albums since another artist who had used the name of Mimó has issued a legal block to Bell. The two songs have been re-branded as Andy Bell and appear on Non-Stop. He appeared on Operastar’s second ITV series in June 2011 and finished fifth. Bell also gave time and made charitable records.

These included Ferry Aid’s cover for “Let It Be” (1987); a cover for Cole Porter’s “Too Darn Hot,” which include a ‘Red Hot + Blue’ album for fund-raising of AIDS and HIV research in the 1990s; re-made Lene Lovich’s “Rage” to include it in PETA’s (1991) album to support wildlife campaigns (in both December 1994 and November 2004). The 2008 True Colours Tour also featured Bell. Offering a longtime companion, Paul M. Hickey, Bell is obviously gay. Bell publicly declared on 17 December 2004 that since 1998 it is HIV-positive.

In an interview in 2007, he said that gay males are indulged in HIV: There are certainly people with HIV who meet other males who are HIV-positive and who wish to have sex unprotected. I think it has to be really difficult for young homosexual guys because there are so many gay men to do now — they have so many saunas and so much to go to, and it is easily accessible.” Bell has avascular necrosis. He had both hips substituted, so that he doesn’t “stick around” in recent performances. On 11 April 2012, at 62 years of age, Hickey died. Bell married Stephen Moss in January 2013. In January 2013.
