The Anaheim Ducks are a California-based professional ice hockey team. The Ducks are a member of the Pacific Division of the NHL’s Western Conference and play their home games at the Honda Center. The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, named after the 1992 film The Mighty Ducks, were formed in 1993 by the Walt Disney Company. In 2005, Disney sold the team to Henry and Susan Samueli, who renamed it the Anaheim Ducks before the 2006–07 season with the help of then-general manager Brian Burke.
To match their new name, the Ducks changed their uniforms before the 2006–07 season. Their colors became black, gold, and orange, and the emblem of a duck-shaped goalie mask was replaced with the word “Ducks,” with a webbed foot in place of the “D.”.
