He scored 45 goals in 51 outings this season alone. Dunfermline’s triumph led to a record £65,000 deal with Glasgow Rangers in 1967.

After only two seasons with them, he quit the squad. Here, in 41 league appearances, he managed to score 25 goals. In 1969, he joined Falkirk and became a player coach. After four seasons, the new manager who had him left the team removed him from this role.

He played for Ayr United before he finished his career. In June 1974 he took part in the management team at East Stirlingshire but was seduced in months by the rival St. Mirren team. In October 1974 he began his career at St. Mirren and worked there until 1978 when he was sacked.

In June 1978, he joined Aberdeen to replace Billy McNeill, their manager. After joining, the team improved significantly and helped the team win the Scottish First Division in 1980. Until 1986, he was working with Aberdeen to win the Cup Winners Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and several additional trophies in the league.

In 1986, he was appointed as the Manager of Manchester United, and his then-manager Ron Atkinson was accepted and replaced. It was a popular attire but lately wasn’t good. He was a disciplinarian and added to the team new players such as Steve Bruce, Brian McClair, Neil Webb and Paul Ince.

The team could not win any major title till 1989 despite all his efforts. The first great triumph was when in the 1989-1990 season the team won the FA Cup over Crystal Palace. The team won both the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup and Super Cup in 1991 after finding their winning paths.

Ferguson has guided his side throughout the decade to several major titles wins the Premier Leagues, the FA double cup and the UEFA Champions League. The team won the “treble” in the 1998-99 season: the FA Cup, the league, and the UEFA Champions League.

They won their sixth Premier League and in nine years became England’s champions for the seventh time. Ferguson thought about retiring by the end of the 2001-02 season but elected to continue with the United for 11 more seasons. In 2004, the squad won the FA Cup, the final under its administration. Wigan Athletic was beaten 4-0 in the 2006 League Cup Finals to raise the trophy.
