He lost his work at Scholastic after a restructure of a corporation that required him to do full-time writing. In this period, he forged into the genre of horror. His debut horror story ‘Blind Date’ was written in 1986. The readers were positively accepted by ‘Twisted’ (1987) and ‘The Baby-Sitter’ (1989). In 1989, he began to write books in the series ‘Fear Street.’

It was a horror series for teenagers who turned around teenagers facing malignant powers such as fantasies, assassins, and other evil people. ‘The New Girl’ was the first novel in the series. The series Fear Street had the punch line “where your greatest nightmares reside” and was a popular series with around 100 novels selling over 80 million copies. He co-created ‘Eureeka’s Castle’s children’s TV show and was also his chief writer. The show was broadcast on the Nickelodeon Network between 1989 and 1995.

In 1992, he launched the ‘Goosebumps’ series. The horror fiction of children follows children’s characters in frightening settings. The series was very popular and more than 300 million books were sold globally. The novel’s success led to a four-season TV series, ‘Goosebumps,’ from 1995 to 1998.

In 2007, a horror fantasy film was created, ‘The Haunting Hour: Don’t Think It,’ based on his children’s eponymous novel. The film was directed by Emily Osment and Tobin Bell and directed by Alex Zamm.

When he grew up he became a writer, but his first works differed greatly from those horror novels he subsequently became famous for. He started his career by creating kids’ joke books and created a humorous journal called ‘Bananas.’ He used the name Jovial Bob Stine as a humor writer. He began to write full time after losing his day’s work and took a trip into the horror genre with the well-received novel ‘Blind Date.’

After he established his specialty, he delved head-on into horror fiction and finally started the extremely successful series “Goosebumps.” He received the Disney Adventure Children’s Choice Award for Best Book Mystery/Horror three times. The Guinness Book of World Records in 2003 identified him as the best-selling children’s book series author of all times.
